About the Farm

Why ‘Lone Crow’?

Well, we can’t remember exactly when the obsession with crows really started… but between our observations of crows out in the forest, interactions with the resident crows at our farm, as well as the shared stories and tall tales and scientific studies, we’ve decided that they’re pretty cool.

Younger, lone crows are often curious, playful, even mischievous. It’s always a treat to watch the younger crows at our farm experiment with different objects and play tricks on other animals. This behavior is part of their learning process as they explore their environment, develop their problem-solving skills, and figure out social dynamics within their group.

We think the best way to improve at anything, whether it’s farming or otherwise, is to be a perpetual learner: keep a sense of curiosity, try new things and experiment, and always have fun while doing so. Just like our lone, feathered friends.

About Tiffany

Growing up among the hardwood forests of Western Pennsylvania, I developed a deep love for the natural world early on. This passion led me to Oregon, where I built a career as a forester, immersed in the art and science of managing and conserving our forests. Over the years, I honed my skills in understanding ecosystems, nurturing plant growth, and working in harmony with nature.

Today, I bring that same expertise to my small garlic farm. Just as I once managed forests with care and precision, I now cultivate each garlic bulb with the same dedication. My background in forestry gives me a unique perspective on sustainable farming practices, soil health, and plant growth, ensuring that every bulb harvested is of the highest quality.

Farming garlic allows me to stay connected to the land, blending my love for nature with the rewarding work of nurturing something from the ground up. Whether it's in the forest or on the farm, my commitment to sustainable practices and respect for the environment remains at the heart of everything I do.

The Dogs

The third half of our farm management is run by the real bosses: our pack of border collies.

Our Growing Practices

We are committed to sustainably managing our small piece of earth, leaving it better than we found it. We live on this property, and our dogs roam every inch; various species of wildlife call our farm home; we keep honeybees; and we also eat the same food that we grow for you.
