Chilean Cranberry Bean Seeds

$5.00
Sold Out

Description:

Organically grown, open-pollinated. Approximately 20 seeds per packet.

Also known as Poroto Vaina Colorada para Granado, this heirloom Chilean red-podded cranberry-type bean is deeply woven into the culinary heritage of the central-southern region. Their rich, creamy texture and earthy sweetness capture the taste of the Chilean countryside at harvest time.

Harvest while pods are mature and red (“granado” stage)—beans are still tender inside—and use fresh in the traditional Chilean stew porotos granados. Or, allow to fully mature to harvest as a dry shelling bean.

Original seeds sourced from Huerto Tante Puppe in Osorno, Chile. Grown organically here at LCF since 2025.
