Korean Red Garlic

from $15.00

PRE-SALE - DOES NOT SHIP UNTIL LATE JULY/AUGUST

Type: Hardneck

Category: Asiatic

Description:

Organically grown.

Teardrop-shaped bulbs are covered in a shiny, coffee-striped wrapper. Cloves are large, with tan streaking; they often form double-cloves within one wrapper. This variety sometimes fails to produce scapes, or produces a bulbil mid-stem in lieu of a scape flower. When the scapes do emerge, they’re often long tailed, flat, and strange looking. It’s a bit chaotic, but the taste more than makes up for it!

Sharp and fiery - great for making kimchi. Stores up to 4 months after harvest; use by the end of October.
